Welcome! My name is Ashley– wife and mother to three (ranging from 8 months old to 15). Originally from the Midwest, I’ve lived in Tennessee for almost a decade now and absolutely love it here. You’ll often find me in the kitchen, experimenting with fermentations (kombucha/sauerkraut), baking with fresh milled flour, and continuing to try to develop my knowledge of cooking from scratch. Though I must admit, fajitas from a Mexican restaurant and pizza from my favorite Italian spots fill the gaps! I love being outdoors with my family, diving deeper into the Bible, and attending my local church. I strongly value family and strive to have a home filled with peace, joy, and a continuation of learning and serving others. These are the same values I bring to the table as a doula.
My interest in childbirth first began, like many, with my own first pregnancy. Everything was textbook up until the very end when I was informed that the baby was presenting head up (breech). Ultimately, it ended in a c-section. In hindsight, I feel like this was an avoidable outcome. I wish I would have had an advocate with me for an outside perspective, but who also knew birth and all of its many components. This initiation into motherhood has been a catalyst for my passion to learn more about the art of childbirth ranging from preconception through postpartum. My second pregnancy, I had a doula and it made all the difference. I had a redeeming homebirth that included a successful VBAC. I felt heard, and supported along the way with someone to go to for questions or concerns. My goal is to do the same for other mothers and be a fervent advocate for you and your birthing journey. Ultimately, my heart is to lovingly serve families and help them achieve a birth outcome they feel good about.
